MOT welding is the process of repairing rust or corrosion in areas that affect the structural safety of your car, such as sills, seatbelt mounts, floorpans and chassis rails. At DriftX, every MOT welding repair is carried out to DVSA standards and guaranteed to pass your MOT retest.
Small patches can sometimes be done the same day if pre-booked — often while you wait. Larger structural jobs usually take between 1–3 days, depending on severity. We’ll always give you a time estimate when quoting.
Yes. We work on a booking-only basis to guarantee workshop time and materials for your job. Send us photos via WhatsApp or our online form and we’ll confirm availability, usually within 3–5 working days.
We work on most petrol and diesel vehicles, including daily drivers, 4x4s, classics and performance cars. We do not currently work on electric vehicles (EVs).
A £25 booking fee secures your slot. Full cleared payment is required before collection. We accept bank transfer, debit/credit card, or cash. Uncollected vehicles will incur storage charges after 3 days.
All welding is guaranteed to pass MOT retest for the repaired areas. While we don’t offer a long-term rust warranty, every job is carried out with motorsport-grade welding standards for strength and safety.
Yes. You can drop your car at our workshop in Flecknoe near Southam and we’ll notify you once repairs are complete. Collection is by appointment to make sure your car is ready on time.
Yes. DriftX offers vehicle collection and recovery within a 10–12 mile radius of our workshop in Flecknoe, covering Southam, Rugby, Daventry, Leamington Spa, Banbury and surrounding villages. Collection is priced per job depending on location and vehicle condition. If your car has failed its MOT and can’t be driven legally, we’ll arrange recovery so the welding repairs can be carried out quickly and safely.
Yes. We guarantee your MOT welding repairs will pass the retest for the areas we’ve worked on. Other repairs (brakes, clutches, servicing) are carried out using quality parts and covered by standard part manufacturer warranties.
Bookings can be cancelled with 48 hours’ notice. The £25 booking fee is non-refundable once a slot has been confirmed, as materials and time are allocated in advance.
Yes. The fastest way is to use our online form or WhatsApp. Just send your registration number, MOT fail sheet (if you have it), and clear photos of the rust. We’ll give you a ballpark quote without needing to bring the car in.
Sometimes — depending on workshop availability. If your MOT retest deadline is urgent, call us directly and we’ll try to prioritise your repair.
